As CEO of Capital Dynamics, Tan Teng Boo is the brain behind Capital Dynamics and the i Capital line of products and services.

He is licensed as a fund manager in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia and he manages local and global funds under Capital Dynamics. All the funds managed by Teng Boo have generated superior long-term performances. Consequently, he has always been dubbed as “Asia’s Warren Buffett”; he firmly reiterates, though, that he is only Tan Teng Boo.

Teng Boo is widely recognised as one of the region’s most iconoclastic minds in investment research and analysis. He is an economics graduate from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. However, it is not his degree but his “fanatic’s interest” in investing and his unique ability to blend investing skills with business experience that distinguishes him from other investment managers.

Dr. Aubrey de Grey is a biomedical gerontologist based in Mountain View, California, USA, and is the Chief Science Officer of SENS Research Foundation, a California-based 501(c)(3) biomedical research charity that performs and funds laboratory research dedicated to combating the aging process. He is also VP of New Technology Discovery at AgeX Therapeutics, a biotechnology startup developing new therapies in the field of biomedical gerontology. In addition, he is Editor-in-Chief of Rejuvenation Research, the world’s highest-impact peer-reviewed journal focused on intervention in aging. He received his BA in computer science and Ph.D. in biology from the University of Cambridge. His research interests encompass the characterisation of all the types of self-inflicted cellular and molecular damage that constitute mammalian aging and the design of interventions to repair and/or obviate that damage. Dr. de Grey is a Fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the American Aging Association, and sits on the editorial and scientific advisory boards of numerous journals and organisations. He is a highly sought-after speaker who gives 40-50 invited talks per year at scientific conferences, universities, companies in areas ranging from pharma to life insurance, and to the public.

Daniel A. Bell is Dean of the Faculty of Politics and Public Administration at Shandong University and Professor at Schwarzman College and the Department of Philosophy at Tsinghua University (Beijing). He is the author of The China Model: Political Meritocracy and the Limits of Democracy (paperback, 2016) and of four other books on East Asian politics and philosophy published by Princeton University Press. He is also the editor of the Princeton-China series. He publishes in leading media outlets in China and the West and his works have been translated in 23 languages.

Alexander Chia is Malaysia Head of Research for RHB. He started his sell side career in 1994 with Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia. Alexander was formerly a director with Standard & Poor’s Equity Research, heading up its Kuala Lumpur office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from Bristol Polytechnic, UK, and is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Chanpen Sirithanarattanakul has been in the Sell-side Research for 24 years, covering various sectors including Property, Building Materials, and small-cap stocks at Tisco Securities, Seamico Securities, W.I. Carr, and lastly with Vickers Ballas which later in 2001 merged with DBS Securities and became DBS Vickers Securities. Chanpen was appointed Head of Research at DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) in 2006. She currently oversees a team of 14 people at DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) office. She also covers the Property & REIT sectors. Chanpen graduated with a BBA in Accounting and an MBA from Assumption University.

Mark Angeles is the head of research of First Metro Securities. He holds degrees in Accounting, Business Management, and Economics from the University of South Florida. He has 19 years of experience in analyzing and investing in US, European, and Philippine equities. He also heads the research partnership between First Metro Securities and Development Bank of Singapore (DBS).

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung Linh has been appointed as Head of Research at SSI – the market leader in financial services in Vietnam - since 2011. He has been a member of the HSX Index Committee, an independent think tank for Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, since 2015. Prior to joining SSI, Mr. Linh worked in the Singapore for British Petroleum (BP) as Market Analyst and for M/s Mark & Dennis as Legal advisor. He also had 3 years of experience as Legal advisor to FDI projects and SMEs in Vietnam. Mr. Linh is now in charge of macro economy, stock market analysis and investment strategy as well as being the main speaker of SSI. He is the first financial expert in Vietnam to initiate and advise the authority on upgrading Vietnam stock market to emerging market (currently frontier market). He also advise authorities on many other financial and monetary policies. Mr. Linh holds an MBA from Nanyang Technological University (NTU - Singapore) and a BA in Economic Law from the Hanoi Law University.

Mr. Edwin Julianus Sebayang has been appointed as Head of Research at PT MNC Securities at MNC Group since 2010. He started his career as Economist and Technical Analyst in 1997 at Treasury Division, Bank Dagang Nasional Indonesia. Mr. Sebayang holds a Master of Business Administration majoring in Treasury, Banking & Finance (University of Exeter, UK) and a Sarjana Ekonomi (SE) majoring in Economic Study & Development, Minor Banking (Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana). He has been providing analysis and views for CNN Indonesia, Metro TV, Finance Today, Reuters, DowJones, Bloomberg, etc. He has been a member of the PT MNC Kapital (BCAP) Investment Committee since 2016; Haircut Member of Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI) since 2015; Head of Teaching Division at Indonesian Stock Analyst Association since 2012; and the Head of Examiner Division at Certified Security Analyst (CSA) since 2013.

TAN SRI DATUK EDDY CHEN aged 63, holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Marketing) from Monash University, Australia. He was appointed to the MKH Berhad (formerly known as Metro Kajang Holdings Berhad) Board on 31st July 1984 and is currently the Group Managing Director.

He has been involved, hands on in property development and construction-related business for nearly three decades. The Group has since diversified into plantation business. Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen is the recipient of the CEO OF THE YEAR AWARD on The Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) 2015 by CIDB Malaysia.

Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen is the President of the Malaysia Shopping Malls Association for 2016/2018. He is also the President of the Building Management Association of Malaysia (BMAM) for the period of 2016 – 2018. Moreover, Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen is also the Chairman for Construction and Property Committee in the Association Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), the Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), and served as the Immediate Past President of ASEAN Association for Planning & Housing (AAPH). He is also the President of the Race Walkers’ Association of Malaysia (RWAM) and a member of National Junior Development Programme Sub Committee, Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) for the term 2015/2016.

Foo is the co-founder of ECS ICT Berhad and assumed the position of Managing Director in 2000. He is a substantial shareholder of ECS ICT Berhad through his substantial shareholdings in Sengin Sdn. Bhd. He was elected as the Chairman of the Board of ECS ICT Berhad, carrying designation of “Executive Chairman” on 1 January 2015.

Foo has been active in the Information and Communications Technology industry in Malaysia for more than 30 years. He has served as a Councillor, Treasurer and Deputy Chairman in the Association of the Computer & Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (“PIKOM”) from 1995 to 2005, and was appointed as an Advisor of PIKOM from 2006 onwards.

Foo has played a pivotal role in growing the Group to become one of the largest Information and Communications Technology distributors in Malaysia and established it as the leading distribution hub in supplying Information and Communications Technology products for Malaysia’s knowledge based economy.

Dang Tai Luk (“Luk”) is the Founder and Managing Director of Bison Group which owns and operates myNEWS.com chain of stores. Luk opened the first newsstand on Christmas day 1996 together with his wife Ling Chao. Twenty years later the chain has grown from a single newsstand to a chain of more than 290 stores.

Luk graduated from Canada in Computer Science. Prior to becoming a newspaperman, Luk was employed in the area of IT at Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Malaysia, DBS Bank Singapore and Gendis Inc Canada.

With his foresight and vision, Luk has built not just an established outlet chain but also a distinctive home-grown Malaysian brand. His leadership and guidance led to the group successful listing on the main board of Bursa Malaysia recently.

Ms Samantha Tai is a Fellow Member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and has over 20 years of experience in corporate secretarial work. Samantha has provided extensive in-house training for directors of public listed companies (“PLCs”) and is a regular speaker for seminars organised by MAICSA, Companies Commission of Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance, Federation of Public Listed Companies, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Malaysian Investor Relations Association (MIRA), Securities Industry Development Corporation, Bursa Malaysia and other professional bodies/organisations.

She has extensive experience in corporate secretarial requirements and provides advisory services including due diligence reviews for corporate restructuring and related services such as IPOs, governance related advisory including Board assessment to clients of PLCs, liquidation and preparation of circulars for submission to Bursa Malaysia. Prior to this appointment, she had been the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer after holding the post of the Group’s Chief Financial Officer.

Ms. Ng joined Suria in 2001 as the Senior Manager (Corporate Development). During her tenure, she had been instrumental in securing the core business for Suria through the Sabah Ports Privatization exercise during the years of 2001-2004. Upon the success of the privatization, she took office as the General Manager (Corporate Services/Finance) of Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd. Later in June 2010, she was appointed as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer at the Holding company. Steven is the co-founder of ViTrox Technologies. He graduated from USM with a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree (1st Class Honors) in 1995. Started his career as an Instrumentation Engineer with Hewlett Packard Malaysia from 1995-1999. Graduated from HP as a Senior Engineer to start up ViTrox together with 2 other partners in 2000.

Steven was initially involved in the Product Development of vision systems and gradually transitioned to Business Development function in ViTrox. He played a key role in establishing ViTrox’s customer base in South-east Asia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Europe and U.S. Currently, he is primarily responsible for the operations of one of the business units in ViTrox, i.e. Machine Vision Systems (MVS), serving the semiconductor and optoelectronics industry.

Tan Teng Boo, aged 59, is the Founder and Managing Director of Capital Dynamics with offices in Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong , Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai (4th quarter 2013).

Khairy Jamaluddin is Minister of Youth and Sports and a Member of Parliament representing the Rembau constituency in Negeri Sembilan. He is also Leader of UMNO Youth and the Chairman of Barisan Nasional Youth. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a journalist, policy aide and investment banker. Khairy was educated at the Universities of Oxford and London. The World Economic Forum in Davos selected him as a Young Global Leader in 2005 and he was made an Asia 21 Fellow by the Asia Society in 2006. Khairy was also elected as Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in 2002. Currently, he serves as an airborne paratrooper in the Malaysian Territorial Army. He is married to Nori Abdullah and they have two sons, Jibreil “Cougar” Ali and Timor “Puma” Abdullah.

Nurul Izzah Anwar is the current Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai. Prior to being an MP, Nurul Izzah was and still is a strong proponent of human and civil rights with a special interest in prisoners of conscience and the rights of women working both at the national and international level. She has worked with a number of agencies and institutes on advocacy work, among them are Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), Women Leaders International Forum (WLIF) Friedrich-Ebert Stifung (FES). She has in the past advocated on behalf of Malaysian political prisoners and Malaysian human rights movements at the international level, most noted being an intervention in the main session at the 55th Commission on Human Rights, Geneva.

Nurul Izzah’s political career began with the creation of the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN) in 1998 where she played a vital role in its establishment and is currently the Head of Division for Lembah Pantai. Prior to entering politics, she earned her Masters’ Degree from John Hopkins University studying International Relations (with specialization in Southeast Asia Studies from SAIS). Her Bachelors’ Degree was in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University Tenaga Nasional and graduated in September 1998.

Niny Khor is an economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Mission in the People’s Republic of China in Beijing. Her current research focuses on Chinese economic growth and the structural transformation of Chinese factor markets. She was previously based in the Economics and Research Department of the ADB in Manila, where she provided strategic analysis for various projects including policy recommendations for the governments of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Nepal. Prior to joining ADB, she was an economist at the UBS headquarters in Switzerland, and a post-doctoral fellow at the Stanford Center for International Development. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. Her recent edited volume “Trade and Employment in Asia” was published by Routledge last month.

Dato’ Seri Mohd Ajib Anuar has been the Chief Executive Director and Executive Director of MSC since 1994. He has more than 40 years of experience in the global tin and mineral resources industry. Currently he serves as the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market, the President of the Malaysian Chamber of Mines and the President and Director of ITRI Ltd UK (the research and development body of the world’s tin industry). Prior to his appointment as the CEO, Dato’ Seri Ajib spent 23 years in Malaysia Mining Corporation Bhd Group of Companies, serving in various senior positions.

Aminul Rashid Mohd. Zamzam, aged 47, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Missouri-Columbia, USA. He joined PETRONAS in 1987 as a Civil Engineer and served with PETRONAS Gas Berhad for 13 years and heavily involved in the development of the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and Peninsular Gas Utilisation (PGU) Loop 1 and Loop 2 projects.

He has held various positions across the PETRONAS Group including, Manager of HR Planning Corporate Department, Senior Manager of Change Management Unit in Corporate Planning and Development Division and General Manager of Leadership and Capability Development of the Human Resource Division. His last position prior to joining PDB was the CEO of PICL (Egypt) Corp Ltd. He joined PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) in March 2012 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PDB and in September 2012, he was appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PDB.

Rozaini Mohd Sani, a Malaysian aged 39, graduated with a Bachelor in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from the University of New South Wales, Australia and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He joined PETRONAS in 2001 and was attached to PETRONAS’ Group Internal Audit Division before moving to undertake Business Development roles within the Gas Business of PETRONAS.

He was then involved in senior managerial roles in Marketing & Trading of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in a subsidiary of PETRONAS, followed by a Senior Manager position at PETRONAS’ Corporate Strategic Planning Division before joining PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad in November 2010 as Chief Financial Officer.

Raja Zera Raja Zaib Shah has 22 years of experience at PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. She joined PETRONAS in 2003 as part of the Special Consultancy Team on Globalisation in the National Economic Action Council. She then moved on to undertake managerial roles in the Corporate Planning & Development division, handling Government-related and cross business issues. In 2007, she was seconded to East Coast Economic Region Development Council as the Head of Council Secretariat.

Zera was appointed as her current role of Senior Manager of the Strategic Planning Department in 2011, and she is handling Strategic & Business Planning as well as Investor & Government Relations.

Mr. Chew Chee Chek, a Co-founder and an Executive Director of Wellcall Holdings Bhd (“Wellcall) joined the Wellcall Group in 2004. He started his career in Financial Audit in 1994 at BDO Binder and subsequently in 1995 at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 1996, he joined Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad and involved in advising on corporate restructuring exercise involving initial public offer, merger and acquisition, reverse takeover, back door listing, debt restructuring, rights issue, private placement and bonus issue. In 2000, he joined Komarkcorp Berhad as a Group Financial Controller and in 2003, he was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Komarkcorp Berhad and subsequently resigned on 16 August 2013. David Gerald is the founder President and CEO of Securities Investors Association (Singapore) or "SIAS". He founded SIAS in 1999 to contest the freezing of shares owned by 172,000 Singapore investors in Malaysian companies by the Malaysian government.

Boards and senior managements take him seriously and his “in the Board Room and Not The Court Room” approach to investor rights issues has earned him a reputation for fairness and reasonableness. Dato’ Tan Ang Meng, aged 56 is a Certified Public Accountant and was admitted to the membership of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1980.

Dato’ Tan started his career in 1975 with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Kuala Lumpur Office in the audit division. He left the firm in 1981 to join UMW. In 1983, he joined Guinness Malaysia Bhd. Following the merger between Guinness Malaysia Berhad and Malayan Breweries (M) Sdn Bhd, he was transferred to Malayan Breweries Limited in 1991 (which later changed its name to Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd) and served within the Group until January 2001. During that period, he held various senior management positions with his last position as Regional Director based in Singapore with responsibility for the brewery operations in China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.

In March 2001, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Fraser and Neave Holdings Berhad (F&N), a position which he held until his retirement on 30 November 2010. Dato’ Tan is an independent director of United Malacca Berhad and Mega First Corporation Berhad, both of these companies are listed on Bursa Malaysia. He is also Industrialist-in-Residence for a Private Equity Fund based in Singapore.

YBhg Dato’ Seri Dr Mohd Ajib Anuar has more than 39 years of experience and expertise in the global tin and mineral resources industry and is fondly known in Malaysia as the “Tin Man”.

As the Group CEO/Executive Director of the Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad (MSC) since 1994, he and his able team have been instrumental in steering MSC from a mere smelter in Penang to become a global player in the tin industry.

YBhg Dato’ Seri is the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market, the President of the Malaysian Chamber of Mines, the Chairman of the Malaysian Tin Industry (Research and Development) Board, and a Director of ITRI Ltd and ITRI Innovation Ltd, UK (the research and development body of the world’s tin industry). He was recently appointed as a member of the Tin Committee of the prestigious London Metal Exchange.

Prior to his appointment as the CEO of MSC, YBhg Dato’ Seri spent 23 years in Malaysia Mining Corporation Berhad, serving in various senior positions. Teh Hooi Ling is a senior correspondent with the Business Times, Singapore. She writes the widely followed weekly investment column Show Me the Money. The articles from the column has been compiled into four books, Show Me the Money Vol 1 to 4.

She was awarded the first Investor Education Journalist of the Year Award presented by Securities Investors Association (Singapore) or SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards in 2009. The award recognises reporters who have helped to educate retail investors through their articles. In 2005 she clinched a Special Award from the association.

Her piece on the property market that appeared in the Business Times in April last year won her the Commentary/Analysis of the year award at the 2010 Singapore Press Holdings’ English and Malay Newspaper Division (EMND) awards.

Ms. Teh graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore. She also earned her Master of Science in Applied Finance from the same university. She is a CFA charterholder.

Upon graduating from the University of Malaya with an honours degree in Economics, Lin joined the financial sector starting with export credit insurance, moving on to factoring and later into commercial banking. She spent most of her career in commercial banking with over 10 years of experience in the area of business credit, servicing mainly SMEs. She was amongst the first batch of Certified Credit Professional (CCP).

Out of personal interest and realisation of the importance of personal financial planning, she completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) course in 2002 and has been a CFP licensee since 2003.

In late 2008, Lin ventured full-time into personal financial planning. A believer in delaying gratification and in value investing, she has chosen to focus on wealth accumulation by partnering with a reputable and well established mutual fund company. Rozaini is the General Manager of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd. He also oversees risk management and supply chain functions of the Company.

Harun Bin Halim Rasip graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting). He articled with Price Waterhouse in Perth, Western Australia for admission and acceptance into the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He joined Price Waterhouse, Kuala Lumpur in 1978 and left in 1983. Thereafter, he was appointed as Managing Director of Halim Rasip Holdings Sdn Bhd, solely responsible for the functions of project promotion, finance and corporate matters, business development, project development and management. Mohd Sahid Hj. Nawab Khan began his career with Sabah Ports Authority (SPA) as Cadet Assistant Traffic Superintendent at Kota Kinabalu Port. He holds a Master’s degree in Port Management and Harbour Administration, Antwerp, Belgium. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport (London), Member of the Chartered Institute of Materials Handling (London), and an Associate Member of the Institute of Traffic Administration (London). He is a licensed Company Secretary since 1997 and a Member of Company Secretarial Practice Group (Malaysia).

He has vast experience in ports operation, having served as Assistant Traffic Superintendent at the ports of Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Kudat and as Traffic Superintendent in the port of Lahad Datu.. He was appointed as the Corporate Secretary of the SPA in July 1994.

After the privatisation of the ports operation on 1 September 2004, he was appointed to the post of Senior Manager of Human Resource. He assumed the post of General Manager (Operation) from the 1 April 2006 and subsequently, appointed to his present position as the Chief Operating Officer of Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd on 1 September 2007.

Mr. Cheok is the vice president of the Selangor Freight Forwarders & Logistics Association (SFFLA). He is also one of the council members of the Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF). As a logistics practitioner, he is a General Manager of an established local logistics company in Malaysia. He graduated from Ohio University, USA with a Master’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering. He is also a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) in Malaysia.

Mr. Cheok has over 25 years of experience in the logistics field. He taught undergraduate classes before working in manufacturing, logistics and insurance companies, holding managerial positions. Ng Kiat Min brings with her a wealth of experience with more than 20 years prior to this present appointment. She has been with the Group for almost 10 years.
